How to make the perfect omelet

Omelets are one of my favorite foods to eat at breakfast. How do you make them perfect? I've tried many recipes and different methods but none have worked. So today, I want to share some tips and tricks with you so you can make your own delicious and fluffy omelets every morning.

Before we start making omelets, let's remember that eggs are temperamental. Eggs must be purchased fresh, preferably organic, and kept chilled until ready for cooking. The yolks and whites will not form properly if they aren't kept cold enough. This will make your omelets appear strangely colored. If you intend to cook your eggs immediately, it's best to use room-temperature egg.

Another tip is to separate your egg before adding it into the pan. You don't want the white to get mixed with the yolk, as this could cause the egg to curdle.

You might burn the bottom of the egg if you place the egg directly on the stovetop. This could ruin the texture of your omelet. Instead, put the egg in the microwave for 10 seconds before putting it into the pan. The microwave heat is sufficient to cook the egg without overcooking.

Let's now talk about mixing eggs. Mixing eggs together is important. You need to beat them well. You need to turn the bowl of the mixer upside down. Then shake the bowl vigorously. The egg will be thoroughly mixed in the bowl as the air is whipped.

Now it's time to have fun: pour the milk into the mixture. Fold the eggs in the milk mixture by first pouring half of it into the egg whites. Do not worry if you see streaks of egg; they will disappear when the omelet is flipped.

After folding the eggs fold the pan onto medium heat. When the oil starts to hot, wait for the pan to cook. Once the oil starts getting hot, add 1/4 cup of butter to the pan and swirl it around to coat the entire surface of the pan. Open the lid and sprinkle salt on the pan. An additional pinch of salt will prevent the omelet form sticking to your pan.

Once the omelet has formed completely, cover the pan and let it set for a few minutes. Use a spatula to flip the omelet or turn the pan upside-down. Cook the second side for a minute or so. Remove the omelet from the pan and serve immediately.

This recipe is best made with whole milk. However, it can also be used with skimmed milk.
